EMPLOYMENT

QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMERGENCY DISPATCHER

 

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent

Must be able to type 40 words per minute

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be willing to attend training in Richmond, KY

Must not have been convicted of any felonies

Must be flexible and able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must have patience and exercise good customer service to callers and units, regardless of their background

Must have people skills and be able to work with responders as well as the general public

Must be able to multi-task, such as answering phones and multiple units on the radio all while understanding and comprehending each of them at the same time.

Must have good communication skills

Must be loyal to their duty, responders, and co-workers

Must understand and exercise the confidentiality policy

Laterals are always welcome. 

If you have 2+ years of first responder experience, academy training may be optional! Call our office for more information.
